This extraordinary porcelain sculpture depicts Lord Hanuman, the revered Hindu deity known as the Lord of the Apes. A central figure in the ancient Indian epic Ramayana, Hanuman is celebrated for his unwavering devotion to the god Rama, an avatar of Vishnu, and is admired as a symbol of loyalty, courage, and incredible strength. As the son of Vayu, the wind god, Hanuman is renowned for his superhuman powers and immense physical might.
This masterpiece is a highly complex work, composed of over thirty porcelain fragments and adorned with fifteen different colors, including metallic tones, gold, and pearlescent lusters. Hanuman is further embellished with a handcrafted garland featuring 112 white flowers, 166 green leaves, and 5 roses, each meticulously crafted petal by petal. His intricate helmet, crown, and jewelry are enhanced with finely etched details, showcasing the unparalleled craftsmanship of Lladro artisans.
